Family Maths challenge
The question was: Use the four shapes to complete the grid so that the same shape does not appear twice:
(a) In a row(b) In any column(c) In either of the diagonals
The shapes were in this order Triangle, Circle, Pentagon and Rectangle.
The shapes were in this order Triangle, Circle, Pentagon and Rectangle.
This is ours
How we worked it out was by Trial and Error so we kept moving the shapes into places but so they didn't end up where they were not allowed.
The 1 minute challenge
At the start of maths we have a 1 minute challenge. What you do is the teacher gives you a sheet that has time tables on it and decimals. You have 1 minute to right the answers to the sums. At the end of the minute you have to mark your answers if you finish the whole page you turn the page over and right the answers to the next lot of sums. The goal is to try and get most of them right.
Family Maths Challenge
Walt Disney needs some help labelling his cast crew pigeonholes. His security has given him directions.
How I worked it out
First I put all the characters names that said where they had to be put in their pigeonholes.
Then by following the directions given, I was able to add the other cast members into their rightful places.
Growing pattern line graph
In class today we learnt how to do a Line Graph. I learnt that the term is called x and the no of shapes is called y. I learnt that after you put the numbers on the graph You have to join them up. I think line graphs are really easy. I like how it is so easy just to put dots on and then join it up. I think this is a good way to show your data.
My homework challenge stepping up
Stepping up
This stairway is made of cubes. How many cubes would be needed to make the steps 9 steps high? My answer is 45
How we did it for each additional we increased the previous step by 1 block.
1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9= 45 blocks
mathletics
In class for maths their is a game called mathletics. It is a site when you verse kids all around the world. You can play live mathletics it is when you can verse the computer or kids all around the world. Your teacher can give you task's to do and as you play the games you earn money to buy things from the shops. You can do all type of sum's. It really helps with your sums.
FAMILY MATHS CHALLENGE
Paul has two dozen carrot cookies. He will eat 3 cookies on sunday. On everyday that follow's, he will eat a number of cookies that is one greater than the day before. On what day will he find that he doesn't have enough cookies to follow this procedure.
Sunday -3
Monday-4
tuesday-5
wednesday-6
Thursday he will find he doesn't have enough.
What we did was we added all the cookies he ate on monday tuesday and wednesday and we couldn't do it for thursday because it would equal up to twenty five.
maths
Today we did reach for the star's a maths investigation. What you had to do is get in to groups of 4 then we had to cut out a 2 pieces of paper and over lap it on our other piece. Then on the sheet were letters A,B,C,D and off.We used 20c coins one for each group their were 6 groups.After that we went down to our undercover area and through our 20c coin on the target we took it in turns.The bullsye was in the middle of the A but our group never got an A or a bullsye but we got the rest. When we came back we made a group planning board for tomorrow and we are going to change the coin tomorrow to a 10c coin and keep everything else the same.I wonder what will happen tomorrow.
Directions
in maths we are learning about directions we had to try and get to our stage the directions we had to do were turn anti clock wise or turn clockwise or take how many steps you had to take and then we would then have to hand it to some one and they would test it then you would come back and your partner would tell you the mistakes you made then you would rite it down and make your good copy which i haven't finished.
maths
in maths the other day we did adding up like 524 + 789 i found it quite easy but i did get some wrong.
rectangler numbers
in class in maths we are learning about rectangler numbers what are rectangler numbers will you add on 2 from 4 and keep adding 4 on we did work in our books what we did was we coloured 4 squres then we keep adding 4 it was quite easy !!!
Fractions
in class we are learning about Fractions what are fractions fractions are parts of a whole.so if you cut a pizza into 4-4 you have a whole. Today we did a sheet of fractions I Found it a bit hard but eventually i got it what we had to do was we had to colour how many pieces it said I Finish the sheet which was good
